Thursday 30 March witnessed a great turnout at Wokingham Town Hall as 85 local volunteers and organisations took part in The Wokingham Volunteer Centre’s first Quiz Night since the Covid pandemic put paid to any concept of fun!The event was generously supported by local Indian Take-Away Mumbai Wokingham, who supplied the meal for the evening, and prizes for the winning team donated by Tesco through their community support programme. Renowned local Quizmaster Ian Gordon set the quiz which featured general knowledge rounds, a music round, letter link and finished with a ‘jeopardy’ round that tempted teams to gamble for extra points, or risk scoring zero on the last round if they got an answer wrong!
The winning team came from Citizens Advice Wokingham who were neck and neck with a few other teams throughout the evening and so scored a well-deserved victory.
This was the latest in the regular programme of social activities for our volunteers and colleagues and the next will be a summer event, to be announced shortly. We would like to thank everyone who took part and our friendly supporters.
