The Wokingham Volunteer Fair attracted crowds of visitors all keen to support an array of fantastic local charities at the event, held at Wokingham Town Hall on Saturday 10th February.
The event was opened by Wokingham Town Mayor Cllr Sally Gurney and 15 charities had their brightly coloured stands set up by 10am, ready for the influx of visitors. Despite the early rain, many people had set out to make sure they got to talk with their charities of choice, whilst others were happy to browse and see what took their interest on the day.
Speaking after the event, Fair organiser Helena Badger said:”We were really pleased with the turnout today. We’d been doing a lot of publicity about the event and it was great to see so many people had come out to talk with a selection of their local charities, looking to support residents right across the Borough. We would like to thank everyone who attended, as well as the volunteers with the charities who were all giving up more of their time to speak with potential new volunteers.
“We’d still be pleased to speak with anyone who was unable to get to the Fair, though, as voluteers are needed throughout the year.
