We were pleased to welcome the crowds of visitors at this year’s Earley Green Fair, held at the Maiden Erlegh Nature Reserve for the first time since Covid intervened. Our main aim was to promote the new Earley Community Transport Scheme, now available to older residents of Earley, as well as recruiting potential new volunteers to help administer the scheme, work as drivers supporting our clients and also some prospective new gardeners for our Green ‘n’ Tidy gardening service.
Whilst the colour of the grass didn’t really fit with the Fair’s name (!) it was a great community event and we spoke to many people about volunteering opportunities with us and other local charities and voluntary organisations. In keeping with our name, the stand was staffed by willing volunteers throughout the day and we are very grateful to them for helping to further raise our profile in the Earley area. We look forward to next year’s event on Saturday 5 August – make a note in your diary now!
