We are delighted to confirm that we have been in recent discussion with Trustees of the Earley Volunteer Driver Bureau to find a way that we may help to restore the community transport service to Earley residents.
The service has been unable to operate since the outbreak of the Covid pandemic in March 2020 and EVDB Trustees had been unable to resume their activities once they reviewed their options later in 2021. Seeking to find a new way forward they approached us to see if we could assist and, following a series of discussions with TWVC Trustees and consultation with EVDB members, it was decided to close the EVDB Trust and pass the service to us.
We are now in the process of setting up a similar community transport scheme, with the support of a number of office volunteers and drivers from the former EVDB scheme, and hope to be able to resume the service in April.
